What does healthy diet cost? - Investor's Business Daily

It costs on average $1.48 more per day per person in the U.S. and other high-income countries, about $550 a year, to eat healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables and fish than to eat foods seen as unhealthier, such as highly processed breads and fatty meats. The Harvard Univ. report analyzed 27 studies from 10 countries, mainly the U.S., comparing price data for healthy vs. unhealthy foods. The biggest difference was in meats, where healthier options cost about 29 cents more per serving.
