Kim Kardashian chooses healthy food from Atkins diet to shed baby weight - Examiner.com

Kim Kardashian[1] opens up for the first time about her post baby body, according to Yahoo! Lifestyle[2] on October 22. Kardashian gave birth to baby North in June and went into hiding for many months without as much as a glimpse of North or Kim. Kim opened up to the London Sunday Times about losing weight and even gave away her secret.

Kardashian confesses that it’s the low-carb healthy food choices from the Atkins diet[3] that is helping her lose the baby weight. While Kim didn’t say how much weight she gained during her pregnancy, she did say that she does have more weight to lose and even though she hasn’t had as much time to work out a she would have liked, she’s ok with her progress. Telling the London Sunday Times, “ Atkins[4] worked for me and I don’t feel tempted to eat a bunch of junk food. It’s just about staying healthy – it will come off.”

Kim’s Atkins journey began 15 years ago when she first went on the healthy food plan with her father. The pair lost weight easily, and quickly. “And, I’m still doing it. I still have my cheat days, but when you’re breastfeeding you can’t really starve yourself,” Kim explains.

So what does one eat on the Atkins plan?

To lose weight you’ll start in phase one which contains proteins, healthy fats and vegetable. Phase one lasts a minimum of 14 days. As you get closer to your goal you’ll move on to other phases and introduce other foods. In phase two you’ll introduce nuts, berries and yogurt. In phase three you’ll introduce fruits and legumes. By phase four you’ll add breads and grains. Atkins does not contain sugar or trans fats. Atkins is a high protein, high fiber, low sugar diet. Atkins teaches you the difference between good carbs and bad carbs.
