A 2001 Santa Ynez Valley Union High School graduate has developed a fitness mobile application for Apple devices.
Matthew Mosebar, a National Strength and Conditioning Association certified personal trainer, said the “Kettlebell F.I.T.” app features more than 225 kettlebell exercises with periodized workouts.
The $3.99 customizable, interactive app is available on the iTunes App store, for IOS 5.0 or higher.
Born and raised in Santa Ynez, Mosebar is the son of Doug and Misha Mosebar of Santa Ynez. Doug Mosebar is the general manager at Gainey Ranch.
From 1997 to 2001, Mosebar played basketball, volleyball and football at SYVUHS. At UCLA, he played football and studied the human body and took several anatomy, kinesiology and physiology classes and graduated with honors. He was hired by Equinox fitness clubs and became familiar with kettlebell training.
Kettlebell training is one of the most complete workouts available today, Mosebar said. Use of the kettlebell, a piece of workout equipment dating back to the 1700s, will boost cardiovascular endurance, increase flexibility/range of motion and develop lean muscle tissue to help boost metabolism, he said.
The app includes four skill levels designed for beginner, intermediate, advanced, and “F.I.T.” users; three workout time frames to choose from; beat-sync technology matches the tempo of music to the workout; and more than 225 unique exercises each with video, coaching points and audio guidance.
Only one kettlebell is needed, however, two or a full set can be used.
Mosebar teamed up with Salt Lake City, Utah-based LOLO Fit for the app. The app design company specializes in fitness apps and has about 20 apps on the iTunes market.
