Fitbit Force fitness and sleep tracking watch officially announced[1]
We learned almost everything we wanted to know about Fitbit's Force fitness and sleep tracking watch last week when it leaked[2] to the general media. Today, however, the company officially announced its new wearable -- launching in the coming weeks for $129.95. The Force is able to deliver detailed tracking information[3] (not just represent your steps as dots) like the time and even caller ID information. For more information click the link above.
Dropcam Pro launched with better optics, dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth (hands-on)[4]
Dropcam[5] -- a company previously known for its camera integration software -- is back with the Dropcam Pro, version two of its WiFi-enabled video recording device[6] . The Pro features a completely redesigned optical system that includes an all-glass lens, and a 130-degree field of view. Aside from updated hardware, Dropcam will also release new apps for iOS and Android, bringing pinch-to-zoom functionality and Activity Recognition to your smartphone. Read on for more.
Acer details Haswell-based C720 Chromebook[7]
Acer[8] teased its new Haswell-powered Chromebook[9] last month at Intel's Developer Forum, but until today the company kept specific details under wraps. Now called the C720, the 11.6-inch laptop uses a more efficient 1.4GHz Celeron processor and 4GB of low-power RAM to get you 8.5 hours of battery life. If these specs are enough to tempt you, head on over to Amazon[10] or Best Buy[11] and pre-order the device starting at $250. Click through for more.
Pantech's Vega Secret Note includes fingerprint reader[12]
Pantech's new Vega Secret Note[13] includes not one, but five hot smartphone trends all packed into a single 8.85mm thick profile: a fingerprint reader, pen input, a rear touch sensor, LTE-Advanced data and an optional windowed front cover. Along with these features -- seemingly inspired by existing alternatives[14] -- the phone also packs a Snapdragon 800 chip, 3GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Head on up for more information.
