Kiest Park gathering all about health and fitness; Oak Cliff church looks ahead - Dallas Morning News (blog)

Zumba-thoners picked up the pace Saturday at Kiest Park during The Concilio's Vive tu Vida! health and fitness fair. (The Concilio)

An estimated 2,600 people attended The Concilio’s health and fitness fair Saturday at Kiest Park.

Almost 2,500 of those signed up for free health screenings, the most in the fair’s seven years. And a Zumba dance-a-thon was a moving experience for about 400 people.

Congrats to members of the New El Bethel Baptist Church, who Sunday celebrated the free-and-clear ownership of property at 1106 Diceman Ave. in East Oak Cliff.

The Rev. Tim Brown presided at the note-burning ceremony. He said earlier the church plans to move its operation to the now vacant site. Time frame? Perhaps within five years, he said.

Best wishes. Lord knows that area[1] needs a revival.
