Title Boxing Club brings Power Hour fitness to Manatee - Bradenton Herald

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Title Boxing Club, the boxing chain known for its Power Hour fitness classes, is opening its first location in Sarasota-Manatee on Oct. 14.

The 5,000-square-foot space features a group fitness area able to accommodate 54 boxers per class, treadmills and elliptical machines for cardio work and other tools for ab work. Classes focus on boxing and kickboxing techniques for exercise and weight loss.

"Other boxing gyms teach people how to fight. They give them fighter techniques, and we're not that," co-owner Mark Lee said. "We're a fitness gym, so we're going to develop a workout."

The new franchise is an effort among friends who boxed together at other gyms before discovering Title and deciding to open one all together. Lee, Scott Goldstein, Greg Zwirn and Scott Grebler are all owners of the new Title Boxing Club at 8440 Cooper Creek Blvd.

"We realized we had a lot of common interests and decided to go into business together," Lee said.

Grebler owns two Massage Envy franchises and already has connections with the franchising world, which propelled the group into starting its new venture.

Each class will center around the Power Hour regimen. The formula: a 15-minute warm-up, then eight rounds of bag-hitting, then 15 minutes of core work.

"If you really hit the bags hard, you can burn up to 1,000 calories in an hour," Lee said.

General manager Joe Romeo says Title is similar to Les Mills, a group exercise fitness program, because of its harmony.

"No matter where you go, it's consistent," Romeo said of Les Mills. "That's the philosophy here. (Title) stays true to their brand and the format of their classes. That's why they're so successful."
