Thieves targeting area fitness club: Lyndhurst Police Blotter - Plain Dealer

Theft from building, Cedar Road:


A man said Oct. 19 $300 cash was stolen from his wallet that he left in a locker while at L.A. Fitness. He claimed he put a lock on the locker and it was still on it when he returned from a workout.


Theft, Cedar Road:


A wallet, containing several credit cards and an identification card, was reported stolen from L.A. Fitness Oct. 17. The victim said it was stolen while she was working out.


Theft from auto, Cedar Road:


A woman said Oct. 18 a passenger window on her car was smashed and her purse was stolen from inside of it while it was parked at L.A. Fitness. She said the purse contained credit cards, cash and an iPhone.


Theft, Winchester Road:


A resident reported Oct. 16 jewelry and cash were taken from his home. There were no signs of forced entry.


Suspicious, Sunview Road:


A woman said a male approached her Oct. 16 while she was in her daughter's yard and said he was looking for his rifle and further, thought another male had taken it. Officers were unable to locate the suspect or a rifle in the area.


Drug possession, Clearview Road:


After a traffic stop Oct. 17, the driver, A South Euclid man, 18, was cited for possession of marijuana.


Two girls, that were inside the vehicle with him were learned to be students at Arch-Tech and were supposed to be at work or home. One was released on the scene to a parent and the other was taken to her home, where she had reportedly not been in three days.


Burglary, Fairlawn Road:


Two bikes were reported stolen from an attached garage Oct. 18.


Theft from auto, Cedar Road:


A woman said Oct. 18 a passenger window on her car was smashed and her purse was stolen from inside of it while it was parked at L.A. Fitness. She said the purse contained credit cards, cash and an iPhone.


Drug abuse, Richmond Road:


After a traffic stop Oct. 19, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located inside a vehicle being driven by a man. No charges were immediately filed.


Disturbance, Brainard Road:


A man reported Oct. 21 his girlfriend was drunk and throwing things around the house after they had a verbal disagreement. The girlfriend had gone to sleep before officer's arrival and the matter was resolved.


Sexual battery, Irene:


A woman reported Oct. 21 she was sexually assaulted at her home. The incident was referred to the prosecutor's office for investigation.


Motor vehicle accident, Mayfield Road:


Officers responded to the Get Go parking lot Oct. 22 after an accident resulted in two females yelling and screaming at each other. They came back to the station to discuss the incident, but both agreed they didn't want any further police involvement.
