FLINT, MI – Greater Flint Health Coalition and HealthPlus of Michigan, partners in Commit to Fit! – a campaign encouraging and educating people to live healthier lives – will kick off the "Fall 4 Fitness Challenge" Monday, Sept. 30.
The event is a community-wide, physical activity challenge taking place during October. It begins at the flat lot at the corner of Kearsley and Saginaw streets, at noon Monday, Sept. 30.
NBC's "Biggest Loser" at-home winner Pete Thomas and HealthPlus of Michigan's President and CEO Bruce Hill are scheduled to appear at the kick-off.
Teams representing each of the 60 Genesee County businesses and organizations registered for the challenge are invited to compete in a light physical activity relay competition, which includes exercises such as jumping jacks, mountain climbers and agility drills.
The challenge goal is to accumulate 930 minutes of activity throughout October, which equates to 30 minutes each day, according to Fall 4 Fitness' Facebook page.
