Mayfield Heights evening update: Mayoral runoff election; Free Yoga; Senior ... - Sun Star Courier

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio – Here's a look at what's going on this week in Mayfield Heights and in weeks to come.

MAYORS GO HEAD-TO-HEAD IN MAYFIELD HEIGHTS: Don't miss your chance to be a part of what is surely one of the closest mayoral races in Mayfield Heights history.[1]

The ballot will be narrowed down to current Mayor Anthony DiCicco and Councilwoman Donna Finney when voters hit the polls Wednesday, Dec. 3. in a runoff election.

Why is there another election when DiCicco won more than 700 votes than Finney in November? A charter requires he win by 50 percent, but he only earned 45 percent.

The other 55 percent was split almost equally between Finney and the third contestant, Council President Diane Marzano Snider. In another rare election twist, Snider trailed Finney by only 70 votes.

FREE YOGA: Nirvana Yoga in Mayfield Heights is offering free classes at Spruce athletic apparel store at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst.

Get your OM on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Yogis will also be rewarded for their hard work with a free mystery gift, courtesy of Spruce.

Don't forget to bring your own mat!
