Celebrate National Yoga Month - Foster's Daily Democrat

PORTSMOUTH -- Seventeen yoga studios in the Greater Seacoast Area are offering the Seacoast Yoga Passport to celebrate National Yoga Month in September.

The Yoga Passport will encourage existing and new students to try out the plethora of yoga disciplines in the area.

The passport will allow the student to take one class at each participating studio for a donation rate of $5 minimum and receive a stamp on their passport from the participating studio. Each student who completes one class at 75 percent or more of the studios on the passport will receive a free individual partnership with SATYA and an entry into a raffle for a massive gift basket from local, small businesses.

All funds collected go to supporting SATYA’s programs to bring yoga to traditionally under-served populations and to promoting specialized trainings for yoga instructors like Yoga for Osteoporosis, Yoga for Cancer Recovery, Yoga for those with Special Needs, Yoga for At-Risk and Incarcerated Youth, and more. .

SATYA created the program to encourage yogis to explore the diverse yoga community in southern Maine and Seacoast New Hampshire.

Interested yoga students can get their Seacoast Yoga Passport at their local, participating studio, or by downloading the form online.

Participating studios include: Balance Yoga Studio, Bikram Yoga Portsmouth, ChildLight Yoga, Cider Hill Yoga, Empower Yoga Center, Green Lotus Yoga Studio, Let’s Get Movin’, Peace Tree Yoga, Port Yoga, Portsmouth Center for Yoga and the Arts, Prasada Yoga Center, Symmetry Yoga, Yoga East, Yoga on the Hill, Yoga on York, and Zev Yoga.
