Chiropractic office adds yoga studio - Idaho Press-Tribune

NAMPA — Dr. Erika Putnam has been a chiropractic physician in Nampa for 15 years, and now she’s certified in a different practice — yoga.

Putnam opened Yoga 430, a studio that adjoins her chiropractic office, Whole Health Chiropractic, at 430 W. Iowa Ave.

Putnam said she opened the studio with the understanding that yoga is a perfect partner for spinal health, in addition to providing other health benefits including stress relief.

“I got into yoga and I began to see more and more of the benefits of yoga for flexibility and strength,” she said.

Putnam completed her 200-hour yoga teaching certification with Shanti Yoga and will teach beginner classes at the new studio. She is joined by Jonathan Orchard and Windy Solerno, who co-manage the day-to-day operations, and other instructors who will teach a variety of classes and styles. The classes serve beginner to advanced students.

“Not everybody can go in to a gym and do weightlifting,” Putnam said. “I think yoga is a lot more accessible that way.”

Yoga 430 offers a variety of memberships and a $50 introductory punch pass for 10 classes. The studio will also offer complimentary yoga classes every Saturday in September at 10 a.m. followed by an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
