The Whitman-Hanson Education Foundation will hold its annual Kids Fitness Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School in Whitman. The rain-or-shine event, open to all, is designed to promote physically active lifestyles for children while raising money for the foundation, which provides grants for programs in the schools. This year’s festival will include free healthy food samples, a DJ, karate and police K-9 unit demonstrations, a moonwalk, and other attractions. Admission is $5 per person, with all proceeds going to the foundation. For more information, go to www.whedfoundation.org. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.[1] [2]
