Scout Scribbles – Sturridge Fitness Concerns Continue - Fantasy Football Scout

Daniel Sturridge fails to shake off a thigh injury and is ruled out of contention for England this evening. Steven Caulker is also sidelined for Roy Hodgson due to an ankle complaint. City new boy Martin Demichelis is out for six weeks with a knee injury, Luke Shaw returns to action for England Under 21s and Nani is handed a new five-year deal by United:

Sturridge and Caulker Sidelined For Moldova Clash

Both Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge and Cardiff City’s Steven Caulker have been ruled out[3] of England’s qualifier with Moldova this evening. The Liverpool striker is still feeling the effects of a thigh injury that troubled him prior to the 1-0 win over United last Sunday. After completing 90 minutes in that encounter, Sturridge has failed to turn out for training this week and has returned to Anfield for treatment. He will be re-assessed when he rejoins the squad on Sunday before the flight to Kiev for England’s qualifier with the Ukraine. Meanwhile, Caulker turned his ankle in training this week and he, too, is hoping for a return to contention in Kiev. Hodgson brought us this on the two setbacks:

“(Sturridge) has worked hard at his treatment and the initial prognosis was that he wouldn’t be fit for either of them but he didn’t accept that. He’s worked very hard and had the necessary treatment but I think it will be touch and go. On Sunday evening we’ll have a training session before heading for Ukraine. If he passes it then he’ll be with us, otherwise then he’ll be staying with Liverpool….Unfortunately, in training he [Caulker] turned his ankle. It’s not a serious matter but it will keep him out of the game tomorrow night….It won’t keep him out of the Ukraine game, he’s expected to do some running tomorrow evening, but he won’t be on the bench tomorrow night.”

The Scout Says: Sturridge’s ongoing battle with a thigh problem appears to be a continuous concern for his club, country and Fantasy owners. Outstanding so far for Liverpool, having scored the decisive goals in all three of their 1-0 wins to this point, Sturridge has earned huge investment going into the international break. Even so, the injury was clearly a factor in last Sunday’s encounter with United and the striker joined up with the England squad as a major doubt for tonight’s clash. The concern now is that Sturridge will remain troubled by the problem from this point on – mercifully for his Fantasy owners, Liverpool’s Gameweek 4 encounter does not take place until Monday September 16, giving him more time to receive treatment in preparation. However, the thigh problem seems persistent and Sturridge’s track record for absence through injury is enough to keep his owners on edge. It will be interesting to see how Brendan Rodgers treats the January signing once the goal threat from Luis Suarez returns to the squad. With reports suggesting a wide role flanking Sturridge, there is also the possibility that Rodgers will, to some extent, look to preserve Sturridge’s fitness with reduced pitch time.

Nani Gets New United Deal

Manchester United have confirmed[4] that Nani has agreed a new five-year deal to keep him at the club. After six seasons at Old Trafford, the Portuguese winger is now set for a prolonged stay under the tenure of David Moyes. The new United boss was somewhat sparing with his superlatives when reacting to the deal:

“I’m really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years. He has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years. I’ve been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons.”

The player himself was, understandably, somewhat more enthusiastic, hinting that a increased role in the first team was on the cards:

“Playing at United has been a fantastic experience for me. When I came to the Club, I never imagined the success we have enjoyed. Training every day with top players who want to win trophies every year is a great motivation to me. I’m very happy that the new manager has shown this faith in me and I’m looking forward to helping the team compete for more honours this season.”

The Scout Says: This came as rather surprising news and cynics will say it’s a direct result of United’s failure to capture more recruits prior to Monday’s transfer deadline. Nani is a player who has appeared to be in steady decline having emerged in the 2010/11 season as an outstanding attacking asset who fetched his Fantasy owners nine goals and 18 assists. Those kind of returns suggested that Nani could become a true heavyweight in the United ranks, assured of starts for many seasons but injuries and lack of form have seen the Portuguese falter. When fit, a series of inconsistent displays have kept him on the periphery, giving way to the likes of Antonio Valencia but also missing out as Sir Alex Ferguson abandoned the use of out-and-out wingers, preferring instead to deploy the likes of Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa and Wayne Rooney in wide areas. However, this deal would seem to indicate that Nani is firmly in Moyes’ plans and, having struggled for creativity and inspiration against Chelsea and Liverpool, Nani could yet force his way into the starting XI. Certainly Fantasy managers will be on alert. After two indifferent campaigns, the one time heavy-hitter can now be acquired for just 7.4 in the FPL. Should he cement starts and begin to show any semblance of form, the scramble for his services would begin in earnest, particularly amongst those without Robin van Persie’s threat in their attack for United’s forthcoming run of kind fixtures (CPL, mci, WBA, sun, SOT, STO).

City Suffer Demichelis Blow

Manchester City’s new defensive signing, Martin Demichelis, has suffered a knee injury and looks likely to face six weeks[5] on the sidelines. Demichelis arrived from Atletico Madrid last weekend to help bolster a City defence that is still without club skipper, Vincent Kompany. The defender is said to have suffered knee ligament damage following a training ground injury and, although surgery is not required, a lengthy absence looks likely. The Argentine had previously worked under City boss Manuel Pellegrini at Malaga and was clearly seen as a valuable addition to the squad as City attempt to correct an uncertain start to the campaign, particularly in defensive areas.

The Scout Says: This latest setback will come as a bitter blow to Pellegrini who likely saw the experience and guile of Demichelis as a means of adding some assured stability to a backline that looks a little less steady this season, having shipped three goals to Cardiff already. Pellegrini’s familiarity with the Argentine would suggest that Demichelis was set to be drafted straight into City’s lineup for the trip to Stoke but now it seems that Joleon Lescott and Matija Nastasic will make the Britannia trip to face the Potters, who are buoyed by back-to-back league wins. Valued at 6.0 in the FPL, Demichelis was unlikely to attract investment but would have offered reassurance to Pablo Zabaleta’s growing army of investors. The City right-back is currently owned by almost 30% of FPL managers who will be looking to the Britannia clash with far less certainty knowing that Pellegrini’s options in central defence remain limited.

Shaw Stars In Under-21 Victory

Southampton duo Luke Shaw and James Ward-Prowse starred for England Under-21’s[6] as they ran out 1-0 winners over Moldova at the Madejski last night, as West Brom’s Saido Berahino netted the winner in Gareth Southgate’s first match in charge.

The Scout Says: Southampton manager, Mauricio Pochettino, was concerned prior to the international break that Shaw was not fully fit to figure in England’s plans. However, having previously withdrawn from two squads, Shaw saw 90 minutes in England’s victory and is also set to figure in Monday’s encounter with Finland. Should he come through that, Shaw would seem likely to earn a recall to the Saints’ starting XI for the home clash with West Ham. As for Ward-Prowse, he saw 65 minutes of action before making way in a season which has started superbly. Deployed on the right-flank by Pochettino the 18-year-old has figured in every one of Southampton’s three league outings and has attracted Fantasy interest as a result. At just 4.5 in the Fantasy Premier League, Ward-Prowse earned almost 40,000 new owners going into Gameweek 3 following his assist in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland. With 35 crosses, 19 from open play and 14 successful, no other midfielder has supplied a more regular delivery from out wide so far this season.

Tigers Get Aluku Boost

Reports in local press[7] suggest that Hull City’s Sone Aluku has been passed fit for the Gameweek 4 home clash with fellow new boys, Cardiff City. The Nigerian had suffered a hamstring scare in the 2-0 defeat at Man City and was forced off on 69 minutes. However, Aluku has made good progress and is set to be available to Steve Bruce against the Bluebirds.

The Scout Says: Aluku’s performance at the Etihad suggested that he could be key to Hull’s chances of survival. His early displays, along with the performances and contribution from Robbie Brady, have been the highlights of the Tigers’ opening matches in attacking areas and, having failed to seal the transfer of Shane Long from West Brom, Bruce will be relieved to have Aluko available. Sadly for Fantasy managers, his potential is severely restricted by his classification as an FPL forward. Nonetheless, Aluku’s availability could benefit those who invested in Brady’s attacking potential and set-piece threat, while those holding Cardiff defenders will be wary that Hull’s cutting edge for the KC Stadium clash will be sharpened.

  1. Hello there! :)

    1. Congrats for first post...

  2. Benteke (c)

      1. Looks like I'll start with Tekkers for safety then > Studge later on

    1. Benteke will outscore RVP this week imo opinion. I unfortunately have neither.

  3. ManU Midfield Options

Fantasy Football Scout Daily Hot Topic

For last season and the first few games of this season there has arguably been no midfield Manchester United player worth owning. Having this option could be crucial to those without RVP.

Will a midfield option emerge in the red half of Manchester this season and if so who will it be?

    1. Nani in the next few GW's will emerge

    2. be aware of my fellow countryman Nani, I should warn you ;)

      1. I'd be interested in these two if they got a run in the side, Zaha must be due soon.

      2. Did you like my Zaha suggestion?

        1. Yeah.

          I have a 7.6m budget....

    3. Must be fellaini, at least you'd hope so for after that transfer fee.

Going with RVP tho, based on the assumption that "having cover" is a real thing & that matters in FPL. When it comes to RVP tho, I'd say it definately is not! :)

    4. If only Moyes would bloody play Kagawa.

      1. Preach it!

    5. Yes Nani.

    6. This is what made RVP such a points hoard. He is the one nailing down the spot, taking pens, free kicks and performing week in, week out, while the others are either busy doing the donkey work or being rotated for inconsistent form.

Same people at the club (Fellaini aside) and the system looks set to continue.

      Not for me:

Nani has been there for 6 years already, i don't see how he will change this season.

Young ain't done it since Villa

Kagawa can't break in to the side for a proper run

      Potentially for me:

Fellaini will do well, but his fantasy returns will depend on how Moyes deploys him.

Zaha is the one i'm watching out for. He looks very lively and very hungry to make a name for himself.

I will wait for Zaha to get his turn and avoid the players who've failed to live up to expectations.

      1. You are forgetting Nani's prolific 10/11, 11/12 seasons where he was brilliant. If Moyes can get him playing to that level again he'll be well rewarded.

    7. If Ashley Young played 90 minutes every game and wasnt so injury prone he'd be my pick of the bunch.

Nani will only start picking up speed after about 3 gameweeks in my opinion. Was lackluster against Liverpool and looked sluggish. Once he gains match fitness the assists and goals will start to build.

Otherwise we have the following to choose from: cleverley, carrick, fellaini, valencia, giggs, kagawa and zaha. None of mentioned are worth picking....especially Kagawa. Feel sorry for him, a wasted talent and another casualty at the hands of man u.

Thus, my pick would be Nani in a few weeks. Ashley Young as an outside pick but ultimately I wouldnt waste my time on a man u midfielder.

    8. I don't think one will emerge.

I don't think Nani will be the fantasy asset he was 2 seasons ago. Young is aweful (as we will see during the England game tonight).

I think Zaha & Kagawa are the better options if they get any game time.

Felliani has promise but isn't going to be in the hole. Any idea where he will be played by Moyes?

    9. Kagawa, Nani & Zaha could be excelent prospects if they get minutes

    10. Carrick lol

    11. One of the first things I thought when I saw the pricing for United this year was the wealth of cheap midfielders with high potential at United.

Nani and Kagawa will be great buys if they can get into the side and show some form.

    12. A 5 year contract at Utd usually means you're indispensable. Nani for me.

    13. KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    14. Sorry posted this somewhere else earlier before I saw the topic, my thoughts on the matter as united fan/crazed fantasy fan!

Ok now that Nani has been given a new 5 year 120,000 pound a week deal surely he must come into contention as u real fantasy prospect for United. Few nifty bullet points to maybe win a few of you doubters over.

      1. He has 43 assists in the league since 2007, now considering how stop start his career with united has been that is extremely potent "if" he gets coddled and gets a big run in the team, the above contract surely indicates such. Since 07 Some lad by the name of cesc has the most assists in the league with 49, another two lads named Wayne and Robin are close on 45 and 44 respectively. Nani's total ain't bad considering.

      2. We have all seen the guy play he preys on the weaker teams predominantly, he is a greedy bugger and always wants in on the goals and has pops from left right and centre, playing on the right or left of an attacking 4 which we presume he will, with Rvp up top Rooney just behind there will without doubt be ample opportunity for big hauls.

      3. Zaha, will be a bit part player Valencia has been really disappointing last 15 months, Welbeck isn't a winger/inside forward so I really feel the bumper 5 year deal which has been handed to him, right after the window closed I might add, the whole like a new signing feel to it which will also put him among uniteds highest earners is a major statement.

      4. Oh yeah and he is 7.4m!

    1. "*tempted to insert avoid handshake joke here*"

    2. Do I hear wedding bells?!

    3. Tempted to sign avishek up to the bnp ;)

    4. FFS's first wedding! Hope we all get an invite.

    5.

Are you reading my posts 24 hours ???

I should now posts only about football related... No off topic now. :D

      1. Uuhhm...you made love to ENR as I logged on.

        Hard to miss.

        Voyeurism.

        1. Whenever I post you are online everytime.... !!!!!!!

Have to stop off topic posts now..

  4. Sturridge will always remain an injury scare

    1. Indeed, only reason that made me pick Cout over him... not that it turned out well :)

    2. yup, nothing's changed since the start of the season (or last season for that matter)

he's still worth having tho & even if it does become a major issue you can just swap him for either giroud, soldado or benteke, it's a nice price bracket that one

    3. They said that of RVp as well once.

  5. Shaw & ward-Prowse. Sounds promising.

    1. Leaning to the cheaper Clyne

      1. Who hasn't started all season? Why would he now?

  6. Paulinho, Ben Arfa and Barkley all rank in the top 6 in terms of 'Threat' this season according to the stats.

They have all pretty much played 90 mins a game

Does that make them all good options?

    1. When Paulinho was deployed in an attacking position recently he posed a major threat but couldnt find the target. Still not sold on Barkley and dont see what all the fuss is about. Ben Arfa is unfortunately surrounded by muppets and is becoming a one man team. My pick of those three would be Ben Arfa (provided he stays fit)

    2. My preference out of that lot is Ben Arfa. He's the only guy creating anything for Newcastle, and given the lacklustre form of their strikers he should have carte blanche to keep shooting from distance which, as we saw last weekend, he can do.

Paulinho has fired off a fair few efforts in Spurs' 4-3-3 but in my opinion a lot of those should have been passes to Soldado. Spurs need to get the ball to Soldado more, and Capoue is now injured, both of those factors could see Paulinho sitting a bit deeper with perhaps Erikson in front of him. I think Paulinho's a wait and see.

Barkley is a major risk: Gibson is returning, Barry has signed, and with the window only just closed this is probably the wrong week to be speculating in budget midfielders, too much uncertainty.

      1. agreed on all points here

not to mention the fact that it's hard to tell if paulinho will have as much threat with eriksen and lamela in the side now

        1. That's true.

          1. by the way, we'd love to have you participate in the FFS FA Cup! details can be found below. hope you'll sign up

            1. Thanks for the invite TW but I'm being a hermit until after Christmas and trying not to get involved in anything fantasy football related until then, today's posts notwithstanding.

  7. RMWCT

    Mignolet

    Mertesacker / Vidic / Zabaleta

    Brady / Michu / Coutinho / Walcott

    Benteke (vc) / Soldado (c) / Giroud

    Lewis / Kim Bo-Kyung / Turner / Collins

      1. I only have Haz and will probably get him out... with fixtures & UCL looming, I'm OK not having Chelsea cover for now either

      2. Not at the moment. Have my eye on Oscar, may bring him in for Michu if he continues to blank.

  8. Who is wild carding for price changes?

Has that stratergy worked, what sort of team value have you got?

    1. 101.8m

The players i wanted all went up so I'm happy.

      1. Who did you bring in?

        1. All the players that I wanted.

          That went up.

          1. Looking like you'll be on for a 103M squad by the end of next week, 'ina. Sounds good - but what are you going to do with an extra 3M? Not really enough to get an RVP or upgrade a cheap mid to a big-hitter - upgrade a couple of defenders maybe?

            1. No chance I will get to 103m.

My TV will drop once I sell of the "fat" I have in there...my team is similar to Toomy's downstairs.

              1. Dunno - I think there will be a fair few risers on Friday night. But you're right - if you're skimming off the profit for a few of them then TV will inevitably drop a little. But, as we know, it's not the money that's important - it's what you do with it.

    2. yup not bad myself..101.7 with collins & studge coming up soon i think. currentlineup (still adjusting here & there).

      migs boruc

      chester coleman zaba collins yanga

      wally silva lamps nolan barkley

      giroud benteke studge

still got bal 0.4m..happy for the moment

      1. Also 0.4m here.

I have my doubt about Sturridge, especially if he doesn't make the Ukraine game.

Prob not going for him anyway.

        1. Can I borrow your 0.4s please?

        2. yeah me to.seeing his yellow colour, it might slowing up the value rising..

what do u think on nolan?wld it be better if i change to HBA?

          1. I've gone HBA for fixtures

            1. yeah think i shld do nolan > hba. mayb can add up 0.1m value faster than nolan

              1. See below.

Over as season I honestly cant see Arfa outscoring Nolan. Just like with Sturridge, injuries always seem to come knocking on the door...

          2. I've had Nolan since gw 1. I'm reluctant to sell him. I posted my thought this morning on this, 3rd midf position in the 7-7.6m range.

            Options:

Nolan:Will tick over, prob score you 150pts over a season,Carrol back?, does tend to go on these "dry" spells like Berbatov

            Arfa: Injury prone, explosive returns,peno's

Paulinho: Not my cup of tea

The rest..Nani/Kags/Valencia/Young; Good fixtures, but rotation risk.

            I don't know the answer.

            1. I'll probably be doing HBa for next 4 > Hernandez

    3. No, it hasn't really. Apparently they've increased the threshold, so prices are rising at a much slower rate. I'll make 0.3/4 max.

      1. How's it shaping up? I'm at

        Migs 4

        Koscielny Collins Clyne Turner Chester

Walcott Coutinho Barfa Taarabt 8-) Redmond

        RVP Benteke Giroud

        1. Once i've caught my risers.

          Mignolet 4.0

          Koscielny Walker Vidic Coleman Chester

Walcott Hazard Nani Ben Arfa Barkley

          Giroud Sturridge Benteke

Alternatively, if AVB hints at Lamela starting

Koscielny, Hazard, Ben Arfa > Collins, Lamela, Lampard.

        2. Very similar.

    4. I don't like this strategy.

And I prefer my 101.3 and WC saved rather than people's 101.7-8 here...

    5. thankfully i didnt have to WC & my team value is still up to 101.6... this is the first time in yrs i've not felt like i needed an early WC :)

      1. It's selling value that is important.

        1. tbh i dont really get the whole WC for value thing, the players people seem to be bringing in are the players in form & who i mostly have already, if i WC for the sake of making money i'd be selling players i want to keep in my team for points so what's hte point?

    6. Wildcarding not just because of price changes, but it's a welcoming bonus.

Increased TV by £1.1m for now.

    7. I did, and i'm not particularly pleased with the rises i've had as a result.

Once ive sold them off again, i think i will be lucky to bank 0.5m over the period.

On the other hand, who would have foreseen Ozil's arrival? Using a wildcard and having 101.5m or so in the bank means i can build a really awesome side for the next 6-8 gameweeks so it is not all bad.

      1. Exactly. I wanted Mign/Coleman/giroud & co in my team. They are in form, their price were going up an they have good fixtures.

        Win-win.

    8. 102.5 with WC.

Didn't wc just for the value rise though.

      1. Felt my team was in a mess, hence planned to wc this week 2 weeks ago.

      2. My local fantasy league (with cash prizes) starts 14sept, wanted to know the players more before that starts. Felt the wc would force me to think more about optimal team to start that league.

  9. I wouldn't mind if Stu is confirmed out injured for the next Gw. I can get Benteke into my WC team.

    1. Wish he would go up that last 10% on totalfpl before his injury comfirmed. ;p

  10. Sounds bad, but i would like Sturridge to be out for a few weeks until i get him in.

Fantasy football makes you think bad thoughts.

    1. i think once suarez returns his game time will be limited(for the first few games) as we saw last season

    2. I do the same thing...we are bad people! lol

  11. Rooney, Jones, GJ, Sturridge, Caulker, the Ox . . .

Any guess on what the England squad is going to look like?

    1. Hart

      Walker Jags Cahill Cole

      Gerrard Cleverley Wishere

      Walcott Lambert Welbeck

  12. Quick quiz, without looking please (cause it's an easy question), can you name the 10 players to have scored 2 goals or more so far in the premier league?

    1. benteke, giroud, coleman, sturridge, yaya, hernandez, soldado, ....

      1. campbell, negredo, podolski and welbeck... but looked

        1. Arghh you.... cheeky ;)

    2. rvp, tekkers, giroud, sturridge, soldado..

    3. RVP sturridge Benteke nolan soldado giroud

      1. theres a cardiff striker cant remember his name scored 2 against city

    4. soldado, giroud, sturridge, rvp, welbeck, negredo, benteke, yaya toure, campbell

      1. and podolski.

      2. missing the pod but bar that all correct.

    5. Giroud, Benteke, RVP, Negredo, Yaya, Sturridge, Welbeck, Podolski, Campbell, Lampard

  13. Benteke, Soldado, RVP, Lampard, Negredo, Podolski, Giroud, Sturridge, Welbeck , Campbell

    1. Thay are all strikers! :D

      What do I win?

      1. Lampard isn't.

        1. Just checked now - lamps has only scored 1. Think I got 9 out of 10 though!

        2. How embarrasing of me.

What is this post all about anyways?

          1. Ah, just saw the comment above. :P

  14. Which Newcastle 5.0 def would you go for?

    a) Coloccini

    b) Santon

    c) Debuchy

    1. Coloccini is solid. Will probably get max baps as well when Newcastle keep clean sheets.

Debuchy had 4 or something attemts at goal though last match, could be a better pick if your hoping for goals and/or assists.

    2. Debuchy has (apparantly) played terribly.

Santon would be my ''attacking threat'' pick.. Coloccini for baps.

  15. What's everyone's thoughts on this UCL team?

    Malafeev 3.0

    Alaba(c) Chygrinski Melberg Uchida Schar

    Isco Mkhitryan Salah Sam Weiss

    Ronaldo Messi Muller

    Thanks.

    1. that front line it's almost 50% of all budget...

not sure if is good idea going with that

    2. courtois

      garay fuchs mangala

      coscar kpb hamsik Honda

      Ronaldo lewandowski el shaarawy

      helton bernad donat jallet

      1st go at it

  16. Did Shaw & Ward-Prowse really 'star' in a 1-0 win at home to Moldova?!

  17. Ivan or Luiz?

    1. Ivan for now.

Wait to see if Luiz manages to nail down a place in the starting eleven.

  18. @LR & Red Devil

Any news saying Williams isn't starting?

He started Swansea's last 3 matches

Who's the nailed on defender at Swansea then? There's Davies but there might be competition from Taylor once he's back.

  19. A) Coutinho

    B) Lamela

I already have Sturridge and Soldado

    1. Coutinho for now, still have faith in him for next few

      1. Coutinho - moving 'into the hole' because of Moses

  20. Who is your favourite FFS ?

    1. RVP is favourite for most.

    2. There's no need to be abusive.

        https://sites.google.com/site/thefpdl/rules-summary[434]

I believe you need to sign up on fantraxx

and I don't think you're currently in a division so email conradburry@gmail.com[435] and hopefully you can get that sorted out

        1. Time to get involved

          Thanks

    2. So the real life teams are only used for the pairings? Do we use our normal Fantasy team for it?

Also if I understand it correctly, teams live Stevenage FC are already taken by regular users?

  23. FPL really shouldn't yellow flag players for "shameless int. injuries"

    Stupid Sturridge not rising anymore

    1. Are you going to sell him?

      1. Probably, but i was hoping he'd be 9.4 earning me a profit of .2

    2. It's like that only for friendlies....shame that we got international break now tough ;-)

    3. :(

Atleast he should have doubled rise

    4. Good I've got my 0.1 and may get rid ;)

      1. I bought him at 9.0

I wanted to sell him at 9.2 (9.4 actual price)

  24. Benteke girourd or sturridge?

    1. All three? :)

  25. What does it mean when the players profile shows a higher value than the one in the transfer window?

  26. what to do with my team?

    2FT 0.1 in the bank

    Boruc Davies

    Shaw Lescott Collins Coleman Chester

    Lampard Walcott Barkley Pozeolu Nolan

    RVP Aguero Sturridge

  27. Why would Nani sign a 5-year contract if he wasn't offered first team football?

    *Nani in*

    1. Yes - why would you possibly want to sign a multi-million pound contract otherwise?

  28. Just seen a gif of merts tackle against spurs which started the goal.... Work of art!!

  29. Anything glaringly wrong with this WC draft?

    Mignolet (Davis)

Zabaleta - Terry - Coleman (Collins - Chester)

    Lamela - Walcott - Lampard - Hernandez (Ward-Prowse)

    Benteke - Sturridge - Giroud

0.3 in bank (hopefully a bit more if price rises come off)

Next Six Ticker

“I'm delighted, having time to re-evaluate his future, Christian has decided to commit to the Club. It's a huge bonus and I'm sure the supporters are every bit as delighted as me to have him on board and raring to go.”

Paul Lambert revels in convincing Christian Benteke to revoke his transfer request
