Christina Aguilera lost 35 pounds with yoga and low carb diet, not liposuction - Examiner.com

After losing 35 pounds, Christina Aguilera is infuriated with reports that she used liposuction to shed the weight. Having devoted herself to exercising and following a low carb diet, she's "sick and tired" of the false rumors, reported Classicalite on Dec. 24[1] .

Christina admits that she gained the weight because she used fast food for comfort. She felt stressed, and food was a safe way to alleviate that mental anguish. But then she lost the weight by using yoga both for shedding pounds and for stress relief, she told Extra TV.

As a result, said a source, "The last thing Christina wants to hear is that people are talking about her losing weight with liposuction. She’s sick and tired of people assuming things about her body.”

In addition to following a low carb diet, Christina used meditative breathing with her yoga. Asked how she looked so great, she kept it simple.

“Laughter, happiness, breathing, and I did some yoga," Christina replied to Extra TV.

In addition to using yoga for weight loss, Christina feels that it helps release anxiety, reported Us Weekly. On one episode of "The Voice," Christina even allowed the cameras to film her as she introduced her singers to her own yoga instructor Christa.

"Today I brought in my yoga instructor, she's helped me so much as a vocalist," Christina said. "Part of the coaching is helping her get more centered in her body."

Wearing casual yoga garb, Christina gracefully did yoga stretches with her contestants. And her responses showed how much she appreciates the health benefits of yoga.

"Ooh, is that your back?" Christina exalted. after hearing a crack from one young woman. "That's great! That's some stagnant energy in there."

And for those who think that yoga doesn't work for shedding pounds, Self magazine reports that one hour of power yoga burns about 500 calories.
