From aerial yoga to outdoor boot camps and cardio-packed kickboxing, there's no shortage of fitness options in New York. But those boutique classes can come with a hefty price tag — a single spin session with shoe rental can cost nearly $40 in Manhattan.
Enter Classtivity[1] , a new website that promises to break gym-goers out of routine and allow the fitness-obsessed to cherry-pick classes from different high-end studios like Ishta Yoga, Barry's Bootcamp and Pure Barre.

"It's an alternative to the gym membership model," founder Payal Kadakia, 30, told the Daily News.
A $49 trial Passport membership through Classtivity lets users sign up for 10 classes in one month. The catch? Members can only sign up for studios they've never visited. So if you've never experienced hot hip-hop yoga or a Bollywood dance class, here's your chance.

Classtivity's monthly membership, called the Class Pass, costs $99 per month and allows users to sign up for 10 classes per month at dozens of different studios.

Kadakia says it's perfect for "someone who wants variety in their fitness routine — someone who wants to keep it changing and keep it challenging."

"We realized that, especially for females, people like having a more engaging workout routine and they love going to classes," she said. "Sometimes it's hard to go the gym."
The dancer turned entrepreneur, who runs Classtivity from her New York office, says the relationship benefits the boutique studios that sign up, too.

"A lot of them see us as a way to acquire more members," she said.
That was the case for 31-year-old Manhattanite Aoiffee McGarry, who hired a personal trainer at Body Space Fitness near Union Square after discovering the gym through Classtivity.

“I’m actually bringing a bunch of girlfriends there tonight before we go out for Halloween,” McGarry told the Daily News.
She bought the Passport to mix up her workout routine.
“At $50, even if I just took two classes, I’m still paying less than I would full price!” she said.
Kate Harris, 31, also fell in love with the savings.
She discovered SoulCycle after co-workers gave her a gift card for two classes, but realized she couldn’t stomach paying for the $34 for 45-minute sessions afterward.
“I would not want to spend the amount of money a month you need to do all these luxury classes on a regular basis,” she said. “(Classtivity) is a really smart business model.”
The startup expects to expand to other cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. next year.
