Jessica Simpson boosts weight loss with high protein diet, running and yoga - Examiner.com

After struggling to shed the pounds from her first pregnancy, Jessica Simpson[1] is making it clear that she's learned how to take off the baby weight from her second pregnancy. The reality star is following the Weight Watchers diet carefully, boosting her protein, exercising and getting support from her fiance, reported Contact Music on November 29[2] .

Jessica's fiance Eric Johnson "has been a complete hero." a source told OK magazine.

"He even taught himself how to make meals that won't blow her diet and has been by her side throughout most of her workouts. He avoids her yoga sessions because he's not that flexible, but cardio, running, swimming and walking, he's with her all the way," added the inside source.

A spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, Jessica is following the flexible food plan but carefully selecting items that can maximize her weight loss[3] . Her choices include "healthy smoothies, celery sticks with peanut butter and high protein foods."

Eric has a mantra that Jessica believes: "Healthy body, healthy mind," and the duo feel that "there's no excuse whatsoever for them to not be in the best possible shape, both physically and mentally," added the source.

Jessica "completely trusts (Eric) and has all the confidence in the world with him," a source told Us Weekly on November 27[4] .

Even dining out for the holidays with Eric, Jessica stayed with her high protein diet goals. She ordered a grilled 12 oz grass fed strip loin at a restaurant. Several studies have shown that eating protein boosts weight loss more than eating the same number of calories in the form of carbohydrates: Read about the latest research by clicking here[5] .
