Snap Fitness takes a hands-on approach to a healthy life - Huntsville Item

HUNTSVILLE — Is the old belt feeling a little tighter around the waste because of too much turkey and pie on Thanksgiving? Well, there is a new business in Huntsville that might have a solution.

Snap Fitness, a military family owned business, opened earlier this month in the old Schlotzsky’s building at 130 Colonel Etheredge Blvd. Owner Jeannie White said that Snap Fitness has a variety of services to offer those who would like to get in shape.

“We offer nutritional and fitness programs,” she said. “We also can set you up with vitamin and supplement profiles and provide a fitness evaluation. Just come on by and see what we can do for you. We have personal trainers that can help.”

Snap Fitness is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week even though it is not always staffed. When people sign up for a membership, they are given an access card so they can come and go as they please.

The gym offers a number of different training machines from elliptical to spin bikes and machine and free weight stations. Snap Fitness even has machines that cater to people with disabilities.

“We have something for everyone,” said Colt White, the gym’s manager. “We are hands on here. We don’t just throw you out there.”

Snap Fitness offers single, joint and family memberships that range from $29.95 to $59.95 per month and month-to-month memberships are available. They are currently offering a free seven day trial for single memberships only.

“We have a variety of discounts,” Jeannie White said. “Come by and talk to use to figure out if you qualify.”

Snap Fitness has a yoga class on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Jeannie White said they are looking for more fitness instructors and would like to open a zumba class at some point.

“We are going to be offering a boot camp class as well,” she added. “I’m an instructor so I will be teaching that class. I love putting people through the ringer.”

Snap Fitness will host a grand opening ceremony on Dec. 5 from 2-5 p.m. People are invited to stop by and take a tour.

“We want the whole town to come out,” Colt White said.

For those Black Friday shoppers who will be looking for good deals today, Snap Fitness will be offering specials.

“You can give the gift of health this holiday season,” Jeannie White said. “Come talk to us about whatever gift ideas you might have. You can buy someone else a membership or gift card, or you can get something for yourself.”
