PORT EWEN >> Essential Fitness, located at 186 Broadway in Port Ewen, is planing a grand opening ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, with a ribbon cutting by officials with the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce.
A number of other dignitaries are also expected to attend. The public is welcome.
Austin Benjamin, the owner of Essential Fitness, will offer free fitness classes for senior citizens as well as children in grades kindergarten through high school in an effort to bring health and fitness awareness to Port Ewen.
Benjamin is a 1998 graduate of Kingston High School and has worked with children and adults of all fitness levels, including professional athletes from the New York Giants and New York Jets.
He said his goal is to “bring wellness to Ulster County.” Services include weight loss and nutritional counseling, endurance and strength training, sports-specific training and boxing, among others. Call (845) 332-4212.
