Zumbathon helps raise money for local fitness trainer's mother - NBC40

NORTHFIELD -

Folks in Northfield sweated it out for a good cause today.

When New Jersey Army National Guard Sergeant and fitness trainer LeVar Curry found out his mom was diagnosed with leukemia, he knew he had to do something to help her out.

He hosted a Zumbathon outside of Retro Fitness in Northfield in an effort to raise money to help his mother out with the costs not covered by insurance.

Curry says he is grateful for the donations and support.

"I've been out here in Atlantic County for 10 years so it's been a blessing that friends and family and my fitness family throughout the community and folks that know me through the army national guard have just come out nad its been a real community sense to donate their time and their money to me in supporting and taking care of my mother for this cause."

If you weren't able to make it out there today, you can still make a donation to help Curry reach his five thousand dollar goal.
