1PACK YOUR GYM CARD
Large chains have locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and some independent gyms have reciprocal privileges for their members at travel destinations. Gyms sometimes also partner with hotels to get special rates for members, so ask before you go.
2PACK YOUR GYM
A jump rope and some resistance bands are super portable. You may be surprised that something so small (and wrinkle-free) can yield such impressive results.
3SCHEDULE FITNESS
'APPOINTMENTS'
Before you go, enter exercise times onto your calendar with the rest of your travel itinerary. That way, you'll be more likely to follow through. I try to maintain the same schedule I would at home, getting up before sunrise to work out before business meetings or sightseeing begins.
4REQUEST A SCALE
If you want to keep the pounds from piling on, ask your hotel for a scale. Many places will provide one for your room if you request it.
5DRINK THE WATER
Unless there's a health advisory against it, water should be your go-to beverage - not booze, not juice, not soda. On a weeklong vacation, you'll save thousands of calories.
