Fitness Field Day comes to MetLifeStadium - NorthJersey.com

More than 1,300 people visited MetLife Stadium on Oct. 18 to take part in Fitness Field Day, an event to introduce Hackensack[1] UMC Fitness & Wellness Powered by the Giants, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center coming to Route 17 in Maywood[2] the end of December.

Doors opened at 9 a.m. and guests were welcomed by staff of the new center, Hackensack[3] University Medical Center and Giants alumni Bart Oates, Stephen Baker, Lee Rouson, Ottis Anderson, Billy Taylor and Curtis McGriff.


Some attendees were able to play like a pro by taking turns at the Punt, Pass and Kick event in the end zone, while others took advantage of free health screenings offered by Hackensack[4] University Medical Center including cholesterol, bone density, grip strength and more. Duane Read, a Walgreens company, offered flu shots to attendees. Kids of all ages explored Metlife Stadium and participated in races, obstacle courses and other fun activities, as well as face painting and a first-class magic show by Elliot the Super Magic Man.


The crowd along with the Giants alumni boogied to Zumba and BodyJAM. A number of the guests also participated in sports performance training activities including kettle bells, TRX Suspension Training, agility drills and much more.


Attendees were able to learn more about Hackensack[5] UMC Fitness & Wellness Powered by the Giants by meeting the staff and going through some of the built in follow ups offered in a membership at the facility. The mission of the new center is to help people of all ages and fitness levels achieve health, wellness, and fitness goals comfortably and safely.
